AR Rahman loses to The Kings Speech pushing behind 127 Hours

It is very unfortunate that AR Rahman had missed the BAFTA award for best music this year. He was nominated under the Best Original Movie Music category for 127 Hours and was a hot favorite among the Indians to win the coveted award. However, award went to Alexandre Desplat for The King’s Speech and he received the honor from Sir Paul McCartney.

AR Rahman performs at Oscar awards again on Feb 27

Indian music maestro A.R. Rahman, who received two nominations at the Annual Academy Awards for original score and the original song ‘If I Rise’ in Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours, will be performing at the prestigious Oscar award ceremony in Los Angeles on February 27.

There is no stopping Rahman. The Oscar-Grammy winner has been nominated for the British Academy of Films and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for original music in Danny Boyle’s ‘127 Hours’. This is the second time he is nominated for the BAFTA.

Oscar winning AR Rahman has narrowly missed the Golden Globe award this year. The maestro was nominated for his second Golden Globe in the Original Score category for the Danny Boyle film ‘127 Hours’. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won the award for their music in The Social Network.
