Shriya speaks out of donning bikinis

Shriya Saran is probably the only actress except Telugu hottie Ileana and Kollywood’s Tamannaah, who can carry of a single-piece or two-piece bikini with ease and aplomb. The picture-perfect, who has perfected the art of keeping her abs flat and maintaining her slim frame over the years, says that she isn’t averse to the idea of donning bikinis in the movie if the script ‘demanded’ it.

Shriya, who is quite happy that her latest Tamil film ‘Chikku Bhukku’ opposite Aarya has been doing well at the box-office, doesn’t hide the fact that she’s not that busy in Kollywood. She is, however, a hot property in Telugu where she has a handful of films. Speaking to newsmen recently, Shriya said that it’s the duty of any actress to fulfill the expectations of her fans and cine-goers.

“I have a pretty face and a slender frame and I do have the responsibility to please and entertain the audience. Nobody comes to the cinema hall to watch a heroine who’s clad from head-to-toe. That’s why I don’t shy away from acting glamourously. I’m aware that quite a few actresses out there are appearing in bikini. I’m ready to don the attire provided the sequence in the film’s script demands so.

“As far as my appearing in sexy outfits in public functions is concerned, I don’t think it’s anybody’s job to criticize the way I dress. I don’t see anything wrong in flaunting the figure I’ve been blessed with. I have so far not fallen in love with any one, though being in love is part of all our lives.

“I am, however, in love with cinema. Whenever I have a shooting schedule to meet, I would be there in time irrespective of whether it’s raining or not. I feel that I’d never get tired of films and acting,” rounds off Shriya.
