Cheran finds a way to retain assistant directors

Actor-director Cheran, who has been lying low for a long time now, is presently starring in director Mysskin’s ‘Yudham Sei’, billed as an action movie. This would be the the first time that Cheran, who mostly dabbles in family sentiment and romantic movies, would be staring in an ‘action film’. Mysskin, encouraged by the response to his ‘Nandalala’, is said to have speeded up the work on the Cheran-starrer.

Meanwhile, Cheran is said to be planning his next directorial venture. The cast hasn’t yet been finalized and even the script is said to be in its nascent stages. Cheran is reportedly not happy about the fact that the assistant directors, who come to him seeking work, disappear with just a single film. It’s becoming increasingly difficult for him to locate them again, it is said.

In order not to let this happen in future, Cheran is said to have ‘drafted’ many pre-conditions to those who might come to work with him in future. The conditions go like this: whoever wants to work as assistant director with Cheran would have to first depost Rs.5.00 lakhs with him as ‘caution deposit’. He should also enter into a contract saying that he would work with Cheran for at least for three of his films.

After the shooting of all the three films are over, Cheran would be presenting the person a ‘Contact Certificate’ (on the line of those given in schools/colleges) certifying the person’s behaviour and would also be returning the ‘caution deposit’ to him.

While most of the assistant directors find it difficult to earn meal thrice a day, one wonder how would they be able to muster up the ‘caution deposit’ that Cheran seeks!
