Superstar Rajnikanth’s blockbuster movies ‘Muthu’ and ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ have been included as part of curriculum for students of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India’s No.1 Management institution.
The students of the post-gradute course have a subject titled ‘Contemporary Film Industry: A Business Perspective’ as an elective course. There are two lessons in this section: one is ‘Muthu’ and the other is ‘Enthiran: The Robot’. Readers may recall that ‘Muthu’ was one of Rajni’s phenomenal hits in India. The film, released as ‘Dancing Maharaja’ in Japan, ran for a record number of 250 days thereby making many Japanese ardent fans of Rajnikanth.
Rajni’s latest offering ‘Enthiran: The Robot’, produced at record expenditure, raked in a whopping Rs.800 crores worldwide. Industry watchers believe that the film has catapulted Rajni from ‘all India superstar’ to ‘superstar of the universe’. It won’t be out of place to mention here that Rajnikanth’s life history has already been included as a ‘success story’ in the curriculum for CBSE students, a recognititon which has never ever been given to any actor in India.
The above-said films have been included in IIM for a variety of reasons including how to plan and make a quality film, how to market it, how to publicise it and how the single factor called ‘Rajni’ was instrumental in these films becoming super-duper hits.
Isn’t it another milestone in superstar’s career?
