Even as Vijay goes on accusing and says that ‘certain elements’ of conspiring to finish him off from the industry, if one bothers to look at the direction in which he points to, the heirs of the most powerful family in the State can be seen. Vijay had earlier gone on record saying that he was ‘startled’ that the theatres which usually patronize his films were behaving in an ‘odd’ manner.
Reports say that the Dhanush-starrer ‘Aadukalam’ (directed by Vetrimaran of ‘Polladhavan’ fame), which was to clash with Vijay’s ‘Kaavalan’ at the box-office during Pongal, would not be making it to the theatres on Pongal but would get delayed by a couple of weeks.
Vijay, though, might have to contend with stiff competition for Pongal honours from Karthi-Tamannaah starrer ‘Siruthai’ and Kalaignar’s Paa Vijay-starrer ‘Ilaignan’, as both the films are ready to hit the silver screens on that day. While the presence of Tamannaah and Karthi, the hit pair of ‘Paiyaah’, are enough to attract people to watch ‘Siruthai’, ‘Ilaignan’ isn’t lagging behind either.
The film reportedly has razor-sharp dialogues by Kalaignar and has the likes of Meera Jasmine and Ramya Nambeesan opposite Vijay. Namitha, the ‘all-season flavour’ of Tamil audience, makes a comeback of sorts with this film in the role of a vamp which has added to the excitement.
We can only wish good luck for Vijay, who has been reeling under successive failures for the past few years, that his ‘Kaavalan’ redeems his box-office records of the recent past!
