Kaavalan's marketing man Sakthi Chidambaram and producer Romesh Babu have been holding marathon discussions with the financiers and distributors to bail out the film.
The latest we hear is that veteran distributor, exhibitor and producer Aascar Ravichandran has stepped into the fray and is trying his best to see that the film releases for Pongal.
Distributors' Council Chairman Kalaipuli G Sekharan, has issued a press statement against theatre owners for deciding not to screen Vijay's films.
Sekharan has powerful connections and he has raised many issues including whether theatre owners would refund the ticket amount to audiences if they are not happy with the film?
He has also asked subtly, whether theatre owners will pressurise other heroes with bigger flops for refunds!
Another major problem that Kaavalan is facing is that the overseas distributor of the film has not been able to sell it due to the failure of another big Tamil film which released recently. There are no buyers at his price in the overseas market.
