The Producers’ Council meeting was held at the Film Chamber theatre in Chennai headed by Rama Narayanan. The meeting turned into a venue for fisticuff when two producers Ayyappan and Muthumari began attacking each other.
Ayyappan, who also happens to be a distributor, brought to the notice of the Council about the losses he suffered for screening films like Sura, Vettaikaran, Thillalangadi, and Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai. To this, Muthumari replied that the meeting is to put in the demands of the producers and not that of the distributors. This resulted in a heated argument between the two which resulted in a fisticuff.
The producers present at the venue tried to pull them apart and send them out but the fight continued in the corridors of the Film Chamber.
