Vetrimaran purchases ‘Aadukalam’ tickets

Sun Pictures, the leader in Kollywood in the field of producing and then distributing films, goes strictly by the rules and regulations it has stipulated for the functioning of the company. Unlike many distributors/produces, it is said that Sun Pictures usually doesn’t entertain the ‘preview’ shows and ‘special screening’ of the films it produces and distributes.

‘Aadukalam’ is the latest offering from Sun Pictures. Starring Dhanush and newcomer Tapasee Pannu in the lead, the film has been the ‘pick’ of Pongal releases and has been going from strength to strength, according to trade sources.

When Sun Pictures released Vishal’s home production ‘Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai’ last year, Vishal had to spend out of his own pocket for a set of journos to watch the film. This wasn’t a solitary case, each hero has to shell the dime from his pocket to make his relatives/friends watch the film.

It’s now the turn of director Vetrimaran to bear the cost of tickets, as he was requested by many of his friends and relatives to arrange for the screening of the film or for the tickets. Instead of seeking a ‘special show’ and getting the (known) reply, Vetrimaran purchased the tickets from his expenses and made them watch the movie.
