The audio launch of ‘Arumbumeesai Kurumpu Paarvai’ (AKP) was held in the city on the other day. The event, conceived by director Vetriveeran, was ‘differently’ different on more than one count.

Instead of playing out the songs of the film as is customarily done at audio-launches, Vetriveeran dared to be ‘different’ and played out the dialogue sequences from the film. The central theme of the film revolves around the boarding and logging facilities provided free-of-cost by the Government to the economically backward sections.

Cleverly ‘inserting’ a love-angle in the campus story, Vetriveeran managed to give ample indications that he was in Kollywood for a longer stay. The portion of dialogues shown, though, had a bitter end to it with a student shouting “Smash all of them who disrupt others’ studies!”

The dialogue left a deep impact on the minds of the viewers. The songs and the trailer were released by directors Pandiraj (of ‘Pasanga’ and ‘Vamsam’ fame) and Sargunam (of ‘Kalavaani’ fame). Pandiraj remarked that the sequences re-kindled in his mind his own college memories and the days in which he stayed in hostel.

Looks like Vetriveeran could be having a winner on his hands with AKP!
