Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK), the self-styled patron of Hindu culture in Tamil films, has announced that it would protest against actress-turned-producer Sona Heiden for turning out in ‘skimpily clad’ and ‘outrageous’ costumes in public events.

Sona, who has her own philosophy in leading her life, has gotten herself into controversy on more than one occasion in the past with her bold and brazen views on how people can lead their lives. Her famous quote made last year was that it was ‘very difficult to live with men’ but she can’t do without ‘the company of men’ in her life!

Her recent remarks reportedly made at an event that there was nothing wrong in two

women ‘deciding to live with each other’ has triggered a fresh controversy with HMK threatening a protest against her. A spokesman of HKM has said that Sona has always expressed views against Tamil culture. He added that her behaviour encouraging women to speak and drink is not part of the ‘Tamil culture’ and should be condemned by one and all.

Besides protesting Sona’s remarks as well as her attires at public events, HMK would also be holding a protest march at Marina Beach in Chennai on 13th to express their opposition in blindly observing ‘Valentine’s Day’ by today’s youths.
