Prashanth is basking in the success of his latest release Ponnar Shankar. The film has impressed critics and audiences alike. Produced and directed by his father Thiagarajan, the film narrates the story of two brave brothers (Ponnar and Sankar) of Kong Ponnaru Nadu (present districts of Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, and parts of Tiruchi and Madurai). The film is about the bravery of these brothers and their camaraderie. The film also stars Sneha, Jayaram, Khushbu, Prakashraj, Napoleon, Rajkiran and Vijayakumar in prominent roles.
Newcomers Pooja Chopra and Divya Parameshwaran are the heroines. The movie has been adapted from a book written by Kalaignar Dr. M. Karunanidhi.
Prashanth will now star in Mambattiyan, the remake of his father Thiagarajan's yesteryear blockbuster Malayoor Mambattiyan.
