From ‘Haridas’ to ‘Angadi Theru’, a book by G Dhananjayan, the chief operating officer of Moserbaer Entertainment and one of the important producers of Kollywood, chronicles the way Tamil cinema traveled in the past many decades.
Aptly titled ‘The Best of Tamil Cinema’, the book is loaded with information about various Tamil films, with a detailed listing of blockbusters. And what more? It is packed with photographs of films, promotional posters and actors.
Says Dhananjayan, “Since 1,000 films were picked based on their commercial success, I decided to split the book into two volumes. While the first volume is about films released between 1931 and 1976, the second traces movies from 1977 to 2010.”
The producer made sure that he watched every movie before including it in the list. He also did a detailed research and took nearly two years to complete the book, which will be released in February.
