Actor Suriya is busy shooting for his upcoming film ‘Ezhaam Arivu’, a film in which he reportedly portrays the character of a circus artiste. In the recent times, the last time a lead actor played a circus artiste in Tamil was when ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan played the dwarf Appu in his pat h-breaking film ‘Apoorva Sagodharargal’ in the late eighties.
Known to take on challenging roles, Suriya is reported to have put in a stellar performance in the film, the shooting of which is likely to be wrapped up by end-March. The film is being directed by A.R. Murugadoss, who gave Suriya a memorable hit and superstardom through ‘Ghajini’ and pits the pretty Shruti Haasan opposite Suriya in her debut film as heroine in Tamil.
Meanwhile, Suriya has reportedly committed himself to playing the lead role in cinematographer-cum-director K.V. Anand’s next directorial venture titled ‘Maatraan’. Anand has just finished ‘Ko’ starring Jiiva and Karthika in lead roles and would be launching ‘Maatraan’ in a month or so. This obviously puts a question mark as to what would happen to the Tamil remake of the Hindi hit film ‘3 Idiots’, in which Suriya replaced Vijay last month.
Suriya has reportedly decided to do both the Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots’ and Anand’s ‘Maatraan’ at the same time, shooting alternatively for both the films once he wraps up the shooting of ‘Ezhaam Arivu’.
Doesn’t it mean that Suriya would have the same appearance/get-up in both the films? Or is something being held up?
