Prabhudeva shooting might end up polluting the Aazhiyaaru Dam?

Strange it may appear but choreographer-director Prabhudeva is said to be facing trouble from the environmentalists. The bearded Prabhudeva is presently making his next film Prabhakaran, which stars the dashing Vishal and the scintillating Sameera Reddy in lead roles. Expectations are huge on this film as it brings together for the first time two of the most sought-after artistes in Kollywood at present.

The film’s shooting is presently being held in and around the Anaimalai Hills area. A song sequence featuring the lead pair of Vishal and Sameera was being shot at the ‘zero point’ at the Aazhiyaaru Dam site for the past few days, which has triggered wide-spread protests and criticism from people of the surrounding locality who fear that the shooting might end up ‘polluting’ the Dam.

It is alleged that prior to the commencement of the shooting inside the dam, the crew first changed the normal water into a ‘greenish’ one by mixing some chemical materials. Then some placards depicting a few animals was erected in the waters and then wooden logs and sand bags were placed before the shooting of the song sequence got under way.

This has apparently irked the locals, who blame the crew for ‘polluting’ the dam water. “Authorities (read officers) concerned in Chennai give away the permission to shoot in these places and there is hardly any representative from the Department to monitor whether the crew is behaving without causing any damage to the ecology or the surrounding environment,” was the allegation leveled by the locals.
Wonder what would happen now!
