Shanthnoo is highly excited about his upcoming film Kandaen, directed by A.C. Mugil (who assisted Prabhu Deva in Pokkiri and Engeyum Kaadhal), which is all set to grace theatres on May 20, 2011. The actor feels that his character in the film is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and will definitely give him the much-needed break in the industry. Another major highlight of the film is his comedy track with Santhanam.
Kandaen, with newcomer Reshma as heroine, has recently received a clean 'U' certificate from the Censor Board. Vijay Ebenezer, an associate of Harris Jayaraj, has composed its music. For the first time, comedian Santhanam will have an on screen pair: debutant Nimmi. In this family entertainer, Vijayakumar plays Shanthnoo's grandfather. Both have contrasting opinions on issues, which results in problems; this is the crux of the story.
