Actress Anjali’s stature in the film industry has sure gone up by several notches with her bagging the coveted Filmfare award for ‘best actress’ for her amazing portrayal of a salesgirl in the film ‘Angaadi Theru’. She is presently starring in Ajit-starrer ‘Mankatha’ and plays the lead role along with Ananya in the upcoming film ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ (EE) opposite Sharwanand.
Produced by A.R. Murugadoss in association with Box Office Star Studios, the film has Anjali pairing up with Jai for the first time. Ananya of ‘Nadodigal’ and ‘Easan’ film has a significant role in the film, which is being directed by Saravanan, an erstwhile assistant director under Murugadoss. Saravanan also pens the story, screenplay and the dialogues in the film.
The two pairs in the film unite only in the climax sequences. The film is sans any villain or any other individuals who oppose the love of the lead pairs. Saravanan says that the script is a very interesting one and he has planned the sequences in such a way as to give equal significance to both Anjali and Ananya. Both of them haven’t shown any egoistic tendencies, he asserts.
Vimal of ‘Kalavaani’ fame was to play the role which is now played by Shawranand. The film’s shooting is almost over and is likely to hit the screens by August, informs Saravanan.
