Director Sohan Roy's Indo-English venture Dam 999, inspired by the tragic Banqiao dam disaster in 1975, is all set to hit theatres on November 14.

The plot of Dam 999, made under the banner of Biz TV Network, revolves around a 100-year-old dam and people living around it. The movie throws light on the consequences of the disaster caused by an outdated dam.

Pointing out that Dam 999 is an attempt to highlight the unseen beauty of the maritime world in the backdrop of the rich Indian culture, Roy said that the sequences of the movie have been shot in nine exotic locations, including Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The movie was also shot extensively on the mighty tanker vessel ‘Front Sabang'. Dam 999 attempts to portray the amazement, adventure and the agony that a mariner experiences in the midst of the vast ocean.

According to sources, the movie is packaged in the 3D format and would give the audience a real feel of the dam bursting sequences on wide screen. Ouseppachan, renowned Malayalam music director, has done the background score at the A.R. Rahman Studio in Chennai. The cast includes Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajit Kapur, Gary Richardson, Vinay Rai, Vimala Raman, Megha Burman, Joshua Fredric Smith, Jaala Pickering, Linda Arsenio and Jineet Rath. The film will be released in English, Malayalam and Tamil.
