Actor Vijay is looking forward to two big releases in the coming months. First among them would be ‘Velayudham’ directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja and produced by Ravichandran’s Ascar Films. Genelia and Hansika play Vijay’s heroine in the film which also has Saranya Mohan who plays Vijay’s sister.
Shankar-directed ‘Nanban’ would be Vijay’s next major film, which is the Tamil remake of the Bollywood super-hit ‘3 Idiots’. Vijay, Srikanth, Ileana, Anuya and S.J. Suriyah would be his co-stars in the film. Speculation was on as to whose film he would be doing after finishing both the above-said films. Gautham Menon has already announced that he would be making ‘Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru’ in 2012 with Vijay in the lead.
‘Pagalavan’, which was to star Vijay in the lead and directed by Seeman, was announced some time back and it was assumed that with Vijay’s successive films lining up for release, the actor may not have the time to commit himself to doing Seeman’s film. It’s in this backdrop that Vijay’s impromptu meeting with Seeman, which lasted close to three hours, assumes significance.
Busy with his protest to press the Union government to stop the execution of the trio involved in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Seeman got a call from Vijay and went to the latter’s place for discussion. An announcement about Seeman’s ‘Pagalavan’ might be expected soon, sources close to him say.
