Kamala Haasan gave away an ambulance to Mayopathy Institute of Muscular Dystrophy & Research Center in Veeravanallur, a small hamlet in Tirunelveli district. The ambulance was donated by Apollo Engineering College in Chennai.
Mayopathy Institute of Muscular Dystrophy & Research Center is one of the units of Jeevan Foundation a non-profit organization belonging to actor and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, D. Napoleon. The minister was also present during the handing over of the vehicle.
