The Tamil cinema Siruthai was released on Pongal day. The pirated DVDs of Siruthai have also come out. So, actor Karthi and producer Gnanavel Raja had come to the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office to give a complaint regarding this.

Karthi while speaking to the media about this said," Siruthai has been released only four days back. The pirated DVDs of this film has already been released. The DVDs is being sold at college entrance and temple entrances. As a proof we have also purchased these DVDs. Siruthai has been well received by all people including children and elders. At this point of time, this film has been pirated and sold outside in the DVD formats.

This film has also been uploaded in the internet. It cannot be said that the people who are against this film are doing it because other films DVDs are also in the market. They have filed a case against me because I have acted in the role called Rocket Raja. Since the matter is in the court, my comments are reserved. We have told the Commissioner that piracy is a great menace to the film industry and we have requested him to take steps to eradicate this piracy. The Commissioner has promised that he will take suitable action."
