The critically acclaimed Surya Prakash's Tha, Bhagyaraj's Siddhu +2 and Anand Chakravarthy's Nil Gavani Sellathey are getting ready for a re-release.

The idea is that a re-release with better publicity would reach across to a wider section of the audiences, especially those who missed it in the first place.

Director Suryaprakash of Tha told a newspaper: "At the time of the release there was heavy rains and we only got a few screens. The people who loved Tha loved it. Now we have decided to go in for a re-release."

The idea of all producers is to release their films when the Cricket World Cup happens between February 19 and April 2. During this period new films are unlikely to release.

Shanthnoo Bhagyaraj says: "We have released Siddhu +2 in Madurai, Trichy and Coimbatore and the response has been positive. In Chennai, we will re-release it shortly."

However a leading theatre owner in Chennai said: "There is no question it, as only hits of MGR, Sivaji and Rajinikanth gets a re-release and that too in single screens. No multiplex as a policy will ever play a re-release. Where is the need to screen re-releases, when there is a long queue waiting outside my theatre to screen new releases?"
