Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has confirmed that he would indeed be starring in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam super-hit ‘Traffic’. The inimitable star, who spoke on the occasion of the 100-day celebration of the Malayalam version, said that he was ‘highly impressed’ by the film and can’t wait longer to star in the Tamil remake version.

Kamal added that the same technical crew, which worked in the Malayalam version, would be repeated in Tamil too. Kamal lavished praise on Rajesh Pillai, the director, for his ‘innovative’ way of narrating the story which had many stories in itself and culminated in the climax where all the stories ‘converged’ nicely. Sources say that the Hindi version is also likely to be made along with the Tamil version.

Rajesh is excited that Kamal called him up to inform about his decision to remake the film in Tamil. A self-proclaimed fan of Hollywood films, Pillai is quite happy to be making his debut in Kollywood as he would be able to reach out with Tamil audience, with Ulaganayagan’s presence to help him out.

The film would be produced by Kamal Haasan himself. The rest of the cast is to be finalized, informs Rajesh, who likes the film-making ways of Maniratnam, Gautham Menon and Selvaraghavan. He hoped his directorial effort would be appreciated and lauded by Tamil fans in a big way.
