Kollywood audiences have changed their choice in the past year 2010 and the same is expected to be in the year 2011. No one is interested in mega projects which have high investments and those which are super star driven.
The only factor on demand is entertainment and the novelty. Tamil cinema audiences need content driven movies, rather than the old phase of super star driven movies. Films like ‘Raavanan’ received immense flak from the public, inspite of the movies made by big star cast and star director Mani Ratnam.
Films like Mynaa, which were surprise hits, proved that the movies which have new faces, new subject and new way of presentation, will surely get hit or super hit tags, if not blockbuster tag.
‘ENTHIRAN’ movie which had a high star cast was just watched by the audiences, only with the eagerness, to know, for what director Shanker has invested Rs 160 cr or more, for a 2.5 hr movie. Most of the audiences went for the movie, with this opinion. And not for viewing the same old superstar mannerisms or Aishwarya auntie’s drooling assets
