The soon-to-wed Karthi is presently working overtime to complete the shooting schedule of his upcoming film ‘Saguni’ before his marriage to Rajnani. His last film ‘Siruthai’, which released early this year, was a box-office super-hit and Karthi is determined to continue the successful run he has been enjoying in Kollywood.
Grapevine is that Karthi has turned down many scripts narrated to him and has decided to star in Gautam Menon’s upcoming film. Menon’s last directorial venture ‘Nadunisi Naaygal’ starring Sameera Reddy wasn’t a successful venture and the ace director is looking to set the record straight with the Karthi-starrer.
The Menon-Karthi film, which was reportedly conceived more than two months, was to be produced by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies. For reasons best known to him, after the recent elections resulted in DMK’s huge defeat, Udhayanidhi has reportedly gone back on his idea of producing the movie and has informed Menon about his decision to withdraw from the film.
Now that Menon is looking for another producer to step in to produce the film, he has been getting many feelers to consider them as producer(s) of the film. Readers might recall that Menon has made a few successful films in ‘Kakka Kakka’ and ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ with Karthi’s elder brother and actor Suriya. Karthi’s fans must be hoping that Menon does the same with him too!
