Media reports that Mankatha has been stalled have hurt its director Venkat Prabhu. Denying these as rumors, Venkat says that Mankatha’s shooting had to be stopped for a couple of days owing to incessant rains and this led to the rumors that the movie has been shelved for want of finances.
The director clarified that a set representing a slum in Mumbai is being built at a studio in Chennai and this is also taking some time to be completed.
Mankatha is Ajith’s 50th film and naturally the expectations are more. It also stars Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Vaibhav and Premji Amaren and music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
