Ramya Nambeesan counts a lot on ‘Ilaignan’

Ramya Nambeesan, heroine of lyricist Paa Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Ilaignan’, has now trimmed down a lot. In fact, she recently shot for a photo-session primarily to let others be aware that she has shed a lot of flab around her waist, put on consciously for her character in ‘Ilaignan’.

“As the shooting of the film has now been completed, I went on a slimming diet and am now quite happy about my figure,” said Ramya and added that she would be circulating the photographs among producers and directors. “Being glamour is part of the acting process, I feel. It (glamour) should be according to the role one plays in a particular film.

“If you ask me, I can’t appear in skimpy costumes; I’d certainly not do that in films. It need not necessarily mean that I’m not ready to expose; I’d do so only I clothes I feel comfortable in. I’m happy to be acting along side the national award-winner Meera Jasmine in ‘Ilaignan’. There is no question of ill-feeling or enmity between us.

“I expect Ilaignan to do very well at the box-office. I have also committed to do ‘Kulanari Kootam’ opposite Visnhu; it’s a film in which I have tried my hand at comedy. I feel acting is universal; it transcends all the languages. As such, I’d be happily acting in any language where I’m in demand,” says Ramya in a philosophical tone.
